About Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club

Explore ‘A Hidden Gem’

This magnificent golfing haven has been named one of the UK’s hidden gems by Golf Monthly, and also dubbed “A hidden Gem in the Highlands” by no lesser person that the late, great Peter Alliss – legendary professional golfer and highly respected golf sports commentator.

Golfing Legends

The course layout itself owes its provenance to golfing legends too – originally designed for the club’s founding in 1888 with nine holes by twice Open Championship winner Willie Park (Jnr), and in the early 1900s extended by Old Tom Morris, “the Grand old man of Golf” to 18 interesting holes.

From when it was first founded in 1888 the Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club had everything going for it. Not only is it located above the leafy Victorian spa village of Strathpeffer, where visitors once flocked to partake of the sulphurous spring waters in its Pump Room, but the course was designed by two of the historic greats of the golfing world.

Breath-Taking Views

The result is a unique, challenging course, barely changed in more than 120 years, in a beautiful setting that is praised by all who are privileged to play it. We’re proud to be custodians of this venerable old Golf Club and its amazing course, and delighted to be able to welcome members and visitors to stride the fairways where many famous feet have trod before.

A Warm Welcome

Off the course you’ll find a traditional warm Scottish welcome in our Clubhouse, equipped with a relaxed lounge bar serving snacks, meals and an array of beverages. There’s a handy Pro Shop too in case you’ve left behind some essential piece of equipment.

Our club is popular and generally busy, so we ask visitors to please book well in advance to make sure we can give you a tee-time to suit you. Contact the club to make a reservation or book here (link to booking widget).

At certain times on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the course gives priority to members taking part in our club competitions.

If you visit with a group of eight or less then you can pay your green fees on arrival. For larger groups we will probably need a deposit.
